It is possible to convert hydrogen's energy to electricity and reversely to use electricity to extract hydrogen, which can be stored and transported. Furthermore, hydrogen can be transported after being used to produce other industrial materials such as methanol or amonia. High expectations are placed on the practicality of a fuel cell, which directly changes chemical energy contained in a fuel to electric energy, as a method to produce electricty directly from hydrogen.
